winzip shareware downloadWill my zipped files remain in my computer after WinZip

I'm using WinZip shareware to zip large files. After the shareware expires, will my zipped files still be in my computer? (I'm assuming I'll have to download WinZip again, once I want to un-zip the files?)
I believe that your files will remain on your computer.Only you won't be able to unzip using winzip because Winzip will stop working.

May I suggest that instead of again installing Winzip, why don't you go for some other free archive utility. There are plenty available which you can get with simple google search.

My favorite is 7zip. It is a open source freeware. It supports 7z, ZIP, CAB, winzip shareware downloadRAR, ARJ, GZIP, BZIP2, Z, TAR, CPIO, RPM, and DEB file formats. This should meet 99% of your archiving utility. It can unpack a multi-part RAR volume embedded in a ZIP archive, and gives a meaningful error message when attempting to unpack a 256 bit encrypted WinZip archive.
You can get it from:

Though I like 7zip, I think that WinRAR is a better utility because of more file format support, seemless integration with the OS and a user friendly and simple interface.
However strictly speaking, this is not a freeware but comes with a limited time trial period. If you don't register and pay after 40 dwinzip shareware downloadays, the program simply "nags", it doesn't stop working.
You can get it from:

If you are interested in other free utilities then please have look at these
